Meet Brendon Koch , a member of the Silver Rapids Red Caps shooting team, Brendon says the following about Silver Rapids, I have been shooting IPSC since 2008, but only started taking it seriously (competitively) after chopping off some fingers with a table-saw in 2012 (Turns out that such things can provide a surprising amount of motivation). There is always room to grow and improve further. I started using Silver Rapids bullets in 2020, after looking for a more cost-effective option. Being one of the few guys who manufactured bullets for the 40S&W at the time, it was a no-brainer really. Turns out, that their bullets were (and still are) absolutely superb! I have been using them ever since, and not just for the 40. Their 9mm offerings are just as good. Being the analytical person that I am, and after running comparative assessments, the Silver Rapids offer some substantial benefits over FMJ bullets and many of the other polymer bullets available locally, which simply reaffirms that Silver Rapids offerings present the best option to the serious competitive shooter, and the everyday plinker. Associated cost is but a small part of that benefit, as is by no means the definitive factor. The bullets run clean, accurate and require less powder than similar FMJ’s to make the same power factor.I am extremely pleased and honoured to be associated with the brand, and am hugely appreciative of their (and my fellow team-mates) support and trust. Even before, or if I was not currently officially associated with the brand, I would still be, and was, using their bullets… which is to simply emphasize how I feel about their product… it is simply unmatched in my opinion. In 2021, I moved to Silver Rapids as an alternative to the rising cost of FMJ ammunition and was very impressed with the quality and consistency of the SR 147 round. I have been shooting Silver Rapids ever since. It is the natural choice, as they are easy to reload, produce significantly less smoke than other coated bullets and produce very little leading the barrel. I started under the wing and coaching with my dad where we went to the range 3 Friday afternoons a month with one competition for many years and then around 2017 started practicing more regularly and competing mote regularly. Meet Navarre Muller , a member of the Silver Rapids Red Caps shooting team, Navarre says the following about Silver Rapids, I have been shooting competitively since January 2018. On the 6th October 2021 I received a Silver Rapids sponsorship and later that month, I won the Africa Area Handgun Champs in Production. Since then I have received a shipment of Silver Rapids every single month without fail. This has allowed me to dedicate more time and resources to my growth as a shooter. Silver Rapids have really given me the confidence and motivation to keep going and as a result of their unwavering support towards me, I received the opportunity to represent my country in The 2022 IPSC Handgun World Shoot in Thailand and placed 14th at this match. Since shooting the Silver Rapids bullets, I have had a lot more opportunity to train. The quality of the bullets are fantastic and I would highly recommend to all to shoot them extensively. I shoot the 147gr round. I find the heavier 9mm bullet better for my style of shooting. This round is a very comfortable and reliable round, it is also less aggressive on my barrel life as a result of the high quality coating which Silver Rapids uses on their bullets. I have found these bullets to be very accurate, reliable and less Smokey during rapid fire. I have shot close to 20 thousand Silver Rapids and have had no issues in loading or shooting these bullets. Meet Ian van der Bank , a member of the Silver Rapids Red Caps shooting team, Ian says the following about Silver Rapids, I was introduced to defensive shooting in the early 2000’s, during this time he was growing up in the rural areas of Western Cape and there was a great influx in farm related murders in South Africa and the area. His father being pro-active and a firearm enthusiast started a small shooting club and a range in order for the farmers in the area to have a place and location to actively get proficient with their firearms. Part of this proficiency his father also taught him how to safely and responsibly handle firearms of all shapes and sizes. Ian competed in IDPA competitions between 2006-2019 and during that period has achieved a long list of achievements, but most notably having won the IDPA Africa Area Championships six times and doing this in four separate divisions and during the 2019 IDPA World Championships in Talladega, Alabama, USA placed 2 nd overall in the Stock Service Pistol Division and winning the International Champion Trophy. Ian placed 9 th overall at the event and was the only amateur competitor to place within the top thirty competitors and this event. Ian started competing in IPSC competitions in 2019 and is still going strong, To date he has won four IPSC Presidents medals and most notably won the 2021 IPSC Africa Area Intercontinental Championships in the Classic division. Ian also competed in the 2022 IPSC World Championships in Pattaya, Thailand and placed 12 th overall at the event. Ian was the only Major Power Factor competitor to place within the Top 50 at this event. Ian started using the 125gr Silver Rapid bullets on his 9mmP handguns in 2021, and have not switched the recipe out yet, he is maintaining an average of getting 94% of available score in all matches which indicates the spectacular accuracy and reliability using the Silver Rapid bullets. Meet Grant Chancellor-Maddison, a member of the Silver Rapids Red Caps shooting team, Grant says the following about Silver Rapids, I First met Gavin in 2018 time frame looking for lower cost bullets, started using lead but was not allowed to shoot them at some indoor ranges, Fun fact I did shoot 1000 lead reloads that Gavin had made for me in one sitting, kind of wanted to see if I could blow up my Glock 17 at the time, it didn’t. But it showed me that Gavin knew what he was doing when it came to bullet making. One day he showed me some powder coated 38 Special bullets and asked me to load them, I immediately saw that they had way less smoke than the lead I’ve been shooting to that point they were basically the same as FMJ, but much cheaper. I told him he had to immediately make a lot more and in 9mm, The Powder coated bullets back then was a very new thing to SA but well know abroad, I moved over to 40 and had the privileged of bringing his first 40 bullets as part of my competition loaded ammo. I was the only shooter shooting PC 40 and in a Glock, but the point was to prove that they work. I’ve been a Silver Rapids sponsor shooter since then and all my guns run his bullets exclusively, I trust them that if I do my job they hit right on the money. Meet Jennifer Timmer, a member of the Silver Rapids Red Caps shooting team, Jen says the following about Silver Rapids, I've been shooting since 2018, competitively since 2021. I've been shooting Silver Rapids from last year (2022), joined The Red Caps after the Limpopo Nationals. In the past I've had issues in getting other ammo to work and function properly in my Firearm (she's a bit fussy). But once I started reloading Silver Rapids, all those problems went away. I've to date not had issues with Silver Rapids. Only minor changes that needed to be made to my press (crimping). I've been shooting 125gr 9mm heads, and after this nationals, I'm moving over to the 147gr 9mm heads. For lighter recoil and better handling. Silver Rapids have never let me down. I don't have that fear in the back of my head of my ammo jamming or malfunctioning at a club shoot, league, or nationals. Having that peace of mind definitely gives you the edge. I have been awarded provincial colours for both provinces I've represented during my career. Rifle - 3rd Standard division Polokwane Rifle Nationals March 2022 & multiple stage wins. Bio : I've been competing on the national circuit since Feb 2016. Oddly enough, most people will know me from Handgun shooting, but my first nationals was a Rifle match in Polokwane. Looking back on it now I laugh at how little I knew and how unprepared I was. I then persued handgun quite seriously and it became my priority for a few years, now I kind of juggle between the two with relative efficiency. I'm a Member of the Beretta Pro Team South Africa and I only run the Silver Rapids 147gr offering through my 92X Performance, from the start, it's never had anything else through the barrel and I've only had great results with them. I currently shoot 125gr Silver Rapids through my PCC, which has also proven to love the bullet heads. Accuracy over longer distances is easily achievable. What does being a "red cap" mean to me? - Being part of an accomplished team, standing amongst excellent shooters who represent Silver Rapids that portray the epitome of sportsmanship. Up to very recently I have been shooting 125gn 9mmP Silver Rapids in my Glock 17 Gen 5. I’ve now made the transition to 147gn bullets as I’ve found the perceived recoil to be slightly less, making my follow up shots quicker and more accurate. During this time I have come to value good equipment and consistent performance. Test results fot these 123gr bullets for the AK-47. Loaded the rounds 0.5 mm off the leade. In this rifle COAL is 54.2mm. Average velocity for 10 shots using S321 was: 23.0gr-1740 23.5gr-1836 24.0gr-1848 24.5gr-1871 25.0gr-1903 All velocities given in ft/sec.

Load data. So many of you will have questions regarding load data for the 223 we where running between 21gr and 23gr of S321 giving us the velocity of between 2600 and 2800. So our advice is to use the starting load of 62gr FMJ or SP of your powder of choice and see that as probably the mid point of where you need to be. If you have any accuracy issues loading a longer OAL will help mitigate that. Any questions please feel free to reach out to us!

Good evening! So we finished our testing of our new 62gr bullet. We are extremely happy with the results and will be starting production this week. So you will see it on shelves soon! We look forward to hearing from our customer base how it works in your rifle. What we have created here is a 62gr bullet that will give between 2-3MOA that you can run to 2700 fps. Poi should be similar to any 55gr Factory ammo out to 100 meters.

First test went extremely well. We ran these to 2950 fps average. Highest velocity was 2990fps. Still some more testing to be done this month. 58gr - 60gr average weight Target is at 40m

So you all know Grant has been shooting our bullets since we started making them. We ran a test in the background regarding powder coated bullets and barrel wear. His Glock 35 Gen 4 has now seen 45 000 rounds and has been retired. 35 000 there abouts has been our Silver Rapids 180gr TC, 40sw is a high pressure cartridge as you know. We slugged his barrel at a perfect .400 and he had shot around 8000 rounds of cmj ammo at the time. We now slugged it again and it came to just under. .401 inch as you can see by the measurement. 35 000 rounds of 180 PF 40 cal and barrel wear was negligible. 😎
